Danger Saturday 18.05.2024
The water levels on most watercourses are already falling, only on the upper Alzette at the Livange and Hesperange gauges are the water levels continuing to rise slightly and remain at an elevated level for the time being.
The water has already fallen below the "cote d'alerte" at the Pfaffenthal, Steinsel and Ettelbrück-Alzette gauges and will also do so at the Mersch gauge in the next few hours.
The "cote de préalerte" at the gauges on the Alzette is not expected to be undercut until midday or the afternoon.
On the Sûre, the "cote de préalerte" was reached at the Diekirch gauge during the night and will not be undercut before midday today; at the Bollendorf gauge, the water levels are still rising slightly and may be in the region of the "cote de préalerte" (350 cm).
At all other watercourses, the water levels are also falling or only rising slightly.
Update if the situation changes.

Potential danger Friday 17.05.2024 and Saturday 18.05.2024
Due to the heavy rainfall in the French Moselle catchment area, the water levels on the Moselle are currently rising very quickly and are in the region of the water level of 530 cm at the Stadtbredimus gauge (Remich: 452 cm); the possibility of this water level being exceeded cannot be completely ruled out.
Please note:
The high water levels on the Saar cause additional backwater on the Moselle. However, this influence is difficult to predict. The water levels in Wasserbillig (Moselle and Sauer) may therefore be significantly higher than calculated and flooding must be expected. The CGDIS emergency services are on heightened alert in this regard.
As far as the situation in Remich is concerned, the Remich-Stadtbredimus connection is temporarily affected by work on a gate at the Stadtbredimus dam. This situation is not expected to have any appreciably aggravating consequences compared with comparable floods in the past.
